The omelet in a bag is a preparation of eggs and cream in a sealed plastic bag. It can be cooked by briefly immersing the bag in hot water or by exposure to steam (Steamed eggs), which results in firm egg white surrounding a soft, moist egg yolk. This method also cooks the top of the egg. The package can be opened and the omelet immediately slipped out without washing the eggs or drying them, making it convenient and time-saving.
